Frequently Asked Questions

It is an online portal for fresh produce from the local palengke. Consumers register and login to be connected to the market closest to them. Current we are serving client on a "next day delivery basis".
We spend a lot to care about our brand, we make sure each product is packed properly. For example, we do not use old newspapers to wrap your vegetable, as you would find in major palengkes, we do store your fish in chilled or frozen environment to keep it fresh. We invest in a sophisticated IT system, and we simply care about our brand. Needless to say then that we will not run the risk to damage our reputation by supplying low-quality products. In fact, we would rather not sell, than selling low-quality product.
You can order other staple food such as rice, sugar, salt, pepper, eggs, etc.. We might be adding other things later as well

No, it is a permanent platform. Just now, with COVID19, it is even more pressing. Because consumers can get fresh food from their palengke through an online platform and have them delivered safely. It also helps local vendors to sustain their economic activities during the lockdown. But by and large, Epalengke, in the long run, is also a solution for traditional vendors to sustain their livelihoods in the new digital economy. It provides them a fighting chance against large e-commerce corporations.

Epalengke is geolocalized, meaning we only serve clients within a 1-2km radius from the palengke. And your delivery address is what determines which palengke you as a user are connected to.
No we can not. Epalengke focuses only on enabling the digital commerce near you, one market at the time. Current we target the radius of 1km around the palengke itself.
During COVID19, it is obvious. But even without the pandemic, it saves you time, it saves you money (the prices in palengkes are cheaper than in big supermarkets), your food is always fresh (wet markets are replenished every morning), and last but not least, you will help sustain the local economic activity, which creates a stronger societal link in the community.
Aside from the cost of goods, we charge a concierge fee of 99php for helping to process the order and check the quality and another 49php for delivery. Any delivery beyond 1km shall be paid to an external courier (Lalamove, Grab, etc.)
We invite you to order a quantity sufficient for 3 days of consumption. Do not over-order as your food will quickly spoil. You would be better off ordering 3 days after to ensure freshness on your plate. We do not have any minimum for the cart. We prefer that you order less but more frequently.

But we do have a maximum of 10kg per transaction, after which we do require a special logistic.
Yes, we do accept COD (Cash On Delivery). However, please note we can not easily cancel the order which will result in a pure loss as these are highly perishable products, and can not be store back on the shelves.

Therefore, COD is not available for users who have a high rate of cancellation.
We have chosen to serve our local communities. We can not be illegitimate for long while being highly visible and physically near you.
Supplying the exact quantities for fresh produce can be quite challenging. For example, you might order 1 kilo of cabbage, but the biggest we can find is only 800 grams. You will know this as your order slip will contain details about your purchase. In case the total cost of the products you received is lower than the amount you already paid online, we will refund the balance in the form of an e-wallet. Processing refunds through banks or credit/debit cards can take up to 1 month, so we prefer to credit your e-wallet instead. Rest assured, there will be no expiry date on your e-wallet credit.
This situation will be rare, as we prefer to under-deliver than over-deliver (we’d like to avoid having to charge you more than your allocated budget), but in case we do, you can opt to pay the balance in cash. We can also deduct from your e-wallet or allow limited negative credit.
Because of the nature of shopping in a wet market, where price, quantity, and availability is constantly changing, it would be very challenging to set a definite amount of the cart that you buy. For example, the chicken you want to buy may not be exactly 1kg as per the website, or the avocado that you order is still available the next day.

Therefore, we are compelled to use WALLET which is a credit that you purchase in advance. These credits will not expire and can be used at any time on our platform as is as good as cash. So there will be an estimated amount that we will show, but the final amount will be adjusted by credit or debit to your wallet.

You can buy the WALLET credits via PayPal, credit cards, ATM, online bank, payment, over the counter, Robinsons, Lhuillier, 7 Eleven, SM store, supermarkets, Gcash, Grabpay etc.. You can also preload your wallet with Giftcertificates.com.ph
Yes it might, especially in the afternoon.

Again simply because of the nature of fresh produce from the wet market. Vendors do not buy in excess, they prefer understock than overstock. In fact many of the perishable vendor discount their unsold inventory before the day ends. Because of this reason, we might be frequently "out of stock" or "under stock" and we apologize in advance but it is just the nature of the wet market. Therefore the best time to get availability is the night before for a next day delivery, or very early in the morning,... like in the palengke!
Yes, as long as it has Visa or Mastercard logo, the payment to choose is CREDIT CARD
We now are offering "Next Day" delivery. And normally, deliveries are in the morning so that your fresh produce stays fresh, please make arrangement to receive the goods. Our team will call you before, or leave a message.
Sure, we are dedicated to improving our service and process. Please send your complaint to: complaint@epalengke.com

For this, please allow us to know your name, your email, and cellphone, and the nature of your complaint. Please in order to best help, describe objectively the situation. Thank you for your cooperation.
Yes, your delivery address is the location point to pair the closest palengke to you.

Without an address, the system can not match you with a market and the products available for you!

In fact, we even recommend that you add all the addresses where you would be like to send your purchase. You can then easily decide at what addresses you want your delivery. You can add addresses of your parents, your children, your office etc..
